This is the title the French photographic artist Veronique Vial gave to her collection in which she got top stars such as Angelina Jolie, Jean Reno, Reese Witherspoon, Till Schweiger, Emma Thompson or Holly Hunter to pose for her. Whether still half asleep in bed, sensually showering or playing with their children, these are very personal photos that Vial was able to capture spontaneously. The pictures convey not only the great photographic ambition of the artist, but also the trust of the stars to let themselves be photographed with no glamour and without being perfectly styled.

Vial was born in France in 1957. She studied maths but soon switched to photography after a profound encounter with the war reporter Jean Pierre Cannelle. Since 1989 Veronique Vial has been living mostly in Los Angeles. Her reportages, fashion photos and portraits have made her a household name. Her style is characterised not so much by a search for technical perfection as by a sensitive handling of the theme in question, by unusual perspectives and subtle insights.

Of particular importance to her is her close artistic relationship with the Cirque du Soleil as well as her work for musicians all over the world. Vial’s photos appear in such magazines as Marie Claire, Elle, Cosmopolitan or Paris Match. In the advertising field she has also set new benchmarks, moulding the appearance of brands such as Dove or Mexx.
